Grab a lift ticket in the base area (free if you have an Epic pass) and ride the Silver Queen up and down Mt. Crested Butte for beautiful mountain and town views,.
If you’re feeling adventurous, after taking the Silver Queen scenic chairlift you can hike to the summit of Mt. Crested Butte. This is a strenuous hike that covers over 1,200 feet of elevation gain in one mile and includes a rock scramble at the end. Be sure to allow plenty of time to complete the hike before the last chairlift ride down of the day.
If you have a car, drive 9 miles north of Crested Butte on Kebler Pass to visit this stunning high alpine lake. On a warm day you can swim, or rent a paddleboard in town before you go!
Take a stroll down Elk Avenue in Crested Butte for world class shopping and to experience the local art district. You can even have a custom Western hat made at Björkstam Hat Co!
Try to spot a late season wildflower on this easy hike that is accessible from the town of Crested Butte without a car!
For beautiful views of Mt. Crested Butte and the Elk Mountains hike this easy 1.8 mile trail that begins at Snodgrass Trailhead.
If you feel like exploring, drive Ohio Pass to enjoy this easy hike through an old growth aspen forest, and try to spot the beaver once you reach the pond!
Enjoy a relaxed 1 to 3 hour horseback ride through the aspens with Fantasy Ranch. Conveniently located near Mt. Crested Butte, it’s an easy and scenic way to explore the area.
Rent a bike through Big Al's and explore for miles! Mountain bikes and E-bikes are available. Lower loop to Upper trail is great for beginners and Lupine Loop is a fun option if you have some experience. An e-bike on the rec path offers beautiful views and an easy, enjoyable ride.
Explore the creeks and rivers while fly-fishing! Float trips are available on the Gunnison River through Three Rivers Resort in Almont.
